I illustrate and design memorable visual experiences for brave clients, brands, and audiences around the world.

My work has been featured in a variety of publications, products, films, and animated series. I am grateful to have found friends along the way with whom to work and from whom to learn.

I've been told my illustrations are characterized by their richness, bold and nostalgic shapes, bright colors, raw textures, and cinematic lighting.

In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, cooking, traveling, riding kick scooters, and "playing hiding and seek" in bookstores with my little ones, and hanging out with my super creative wife, Anny.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, we now live in the Evergreen Pacific Northwest with our two joyful daughters.

Testimonials

"Rommel is an incredibly passionate and talented illustrator, and one of the best things about working with him is that he will get invested in the concept and will bring new ideas to the table that always improve the overall project, he's always eager to learn and constantly improving upon his already impressive sets of skills”

–Jorge R. Canedo Estrada, Creative Director & Owner of Ordinary Folk

“I’ve been a fan of Rommel’s illustrations from his book “Golly’s Folly” and knew that his transition from illustration to animation would be seamless. Rommel has a firm grasp on shape and structure and he can move from one medium to the next without losing the playfulness of his work.”

–Nollan Obena, Art Director at Cartoon NetworkbBen 10, LEGO Mixels, Generator Rex

Art Director at Warner Brothers
LEGO Scooby Doo

“One of the things we value highly is collaborative, people-driven work. Rommel has easily captured those qualities on the projects we've worked on together, even when working remotely. He communicates frequently, ensuring that the entire team is aligned and works with a sincere diligence to satisfy. We love him!”

–Joash Berkeley, Motion Design Director at Eido

“Working with Rommel was one of the most gratifying experiences New Growth Press has had in developing our children’s illustrated books. From the beginning, Rommel’s creative thinking took the project to another level and only made better by his incredible illustrative talents. He took a good title and concept and made it great.”

–Tom Temple, Design Project Manager at New Growth Press

“Rommel’s creativity and attention to detail is a rare thing but to combine that with his integrity and work ethic is deeply impressive. It was a pleasure working with him for a very important once in a lifetime project, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.”

–Stephen McCaskell, award winning filmmaker of such documentaries as Luther: The Life and Legacy of the German Reformer and Puritan: All of Life to the Glory of God
